Company Overview
The Histology Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. The technician will be responsible for preparing tissue samples for examination by a pathologist.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare tissue samples for examination by a pathologist
- Embedding patient samples in paraffin
- Cutting paraffin blocks on microtome
- Perform H&E staining
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Ensure quality control and quality assurance measures are followed
- Record and maintain accurate laboratory data
- Assist in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures
- Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and procedures
- Experience working in a histology laboratory preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
